Requirements:

This application required unwinding and precisely cutting individual pieces of desiccant pouches from a roll form that will pass through custom material guides and down an extended exit chute.

Material: Rolls of desiccant pouches | oxygen absorbers

Packet width: 40 & 50mm

Packet thickness: Maximum of 7mm [0.275”]

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a dispenser with an unwind and extended exit chute per customer specifications to unwind and precisely cut individual pieces of desiccant pouches from roll form.

  • Material is loaded onto the cantilever unwind.
  • The cantilevered design allows for quick and easy loading of material.
  • The unwind station has a variable speed motor and control panel.
  • From the unwind, material travels under the dancer arm as it controls the speed and tension of the material web.
  • Material then travels through a set of idler rollers which guide the material into the traction belts.
  • A no product sensor will automatically shut the unit down when no product is sensed.
  • Traction belts will firmly and securely hold the material.
  • Belts are turned by a high accuracy, low indexing motor.
  • An optical sensor embedded into the knife assembly will detect a seal between the pouches and signal the unit to cycle.
  • Once the material is indexed, the knife cartridge cuts the material.
  • A heat treated D2 tool steel blade precisely cuts the material at the seal.
  • Cut material then falls down the extended exit chute.
  • The unit has a color touch screen for easy setup and operation
  • Unit requirements: Power requirements: 110 VAC 50-60Hz [220VAC] | Air requirements: 2.75-6 bar [40-90 PSI]
