Requirements:

This application required unwinding and precisely cutting pieces of stainless steel in roll form.

Material: 0.018” thick and 11”wide roll of stainless steel.

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a cut-to-length station with a heavy duty unwind assembly.

  • The roll of material is loaded onto a heavy duty motorized unwind.
  • From the unwind, the material goes under a roller assembly.
  • The unwind can take a spoil of metal that has an 18” core inside diameter and will unwind the material to ensure cut length is consistent.
  • The material is pulled into the cut-to-length station by precision ground drive rollers.
  • The drive rollers are turned by a high accuracy, low maintenance indexing motor.
  • An internal guide directs the material from the drive rollers into the knife assembly.
  • The cut-to-length station cuts the product into precise pieces.
  • Once the pieces have been cut, they will drop out of an exit chute.
  • The unit can be operated in automatic or manual modes with a dry contact one shot input.
  • Components are mounted to a common baseplate and frame.
