Requirements:
This unit required precisely cutting pieces of thin metal with an adhesive backing that can be manually fed through a custom material guide into precision pieces.

Our Solution:
AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a custom cut-to-length assembly with a material guide to precisely cut and manually feed strips of thin metal with an adhesive backing into precision pieces.
- Material is manually fed through the custom material guide by the operator.
- Custom material guide will fit the dimensions of the strips of material.
- Strips of material have a width of less than 89mm [3.5”] and a thickness less than 3mm [0.12”].
- The cut-to-length unit is PLC controlled with a color touch screen for easy setup and operation.
- Unit can be operated in automatic or manual modes with a dry contract one shot input.
- Provided is a pigtail wire to receive a dry contact signal to control the operation.
- Material is then pulled into the cut-to-length station by a set of precision ground rollers.
- Top idler roller is pneumatically pre-loaded which includes a pneumatic cylinder, pressure regulator, air switch and all necessary hosing and hardware for an easier setup.
- Pressure between the rollers can manually be adjusted.
- Operator can lift the idler roller using a toggle switch for easy setup and operation.
- Rollers are turned by a high accuracy, low maintenance indexing motor.
- An internal guide directs the material from the drive rollers and into the knife assembly.
- Knife then cuts material into precise pieces.
- Cut pieces then fall down a short exit chute.
- Custom program will reverse rollers pushing material out of the cut-to-length station.
- Exit chute allows for cut lengths shorter than 50.8mm [2”].
- A jam sensor will automatically shut down the unit when no product is sensed exiting the exit chute.
- Unit comes with a high precision package that will improve the tolerance on the cut-to-length unit.
- Knife assembly includes D2 Heat Treated Tool Steel blades.
- Unit requirements: Power requirement: 110 VAC 50-60Hz [220 VAC available upon request] Air requirement: 2.75-6 bar [40-90 PSI] 2.2 SCFM
