Requirements:

This application required unwinding, cutting, and rewinding acrylic material in roll form.

Material: 5″ wide roll of acrylic material

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a custom cut-to-length station with an unwind assembly and a rewind station, all contained in an interlocked safety enclosure.

  • The roll of material is loaded onto a cantilever unwind.
  • From the unwind, the material goes under a dancer assembly.
  • The dancer accumulator allows for additional stability and control of the material.
  • Material is pulled into the cut-to-length station where it is precisely cut to specified lengths.
  • Cut product is taken up by a rewind.
  • The rewind is equipped with a slip clutch providing consistent pull force on the material.
  • A backup roller holds the material in place during the rewinding.
  • The air shaft holds the core in place.
  • The core is removed simply by deflating the shaft.
  • All components are contained in an interlocked safety enclosure and are mounted to a common baseplate on an aluminum frame.
  • Unit requires 110VAC power and 2.75 – 6 bar [40-90 PSI] compressed air.
