Requirements:

This application required cutting felt material with an adhesive backing into precise pieces from a roll form.

Material: Adhesive backed felt in roll form with a maximum material width of 89mm [3.5”] and maximum material thickness of 28mm [1.1”].

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a custom cut-to-length station to precisely cut felt material with an adhesive backing.

  • The material is guided into the assembly through the infeed opening.
  • A set of precision ground urethane drive rollers pulls the material into the cut-to-length station.
  • Roll feed air pressure can be adjusted manually.
  • The assembly has an increased opening for both the roll feed and knife assembly.
  • The unit can be operated in both automatic or manual modes with a dry contact one shot input.
  • Top idler roller is pneumatically pre-loaded which includes a pneumatic cylinder, pressure regulator, air switch and all necessary hosing and hardware for an easier setup.
  • Pressure between the rollers can be adjusted manually.
  • A toggle switch allows operator to lift idler roller, allowing for easy setup of a new web.
  • Rollers are turned by a high accuracy, low indexing motor.
  • Unit includes precision ground ball bearings that do not require lubrication.
  • An internal guide directs the material from the drive rollers into the knife assembly.
  • Unit will have an increased opening for both the roll feed and knife assembly to accommodate for a 1.1” thick material.
  • Unit requirements: Power requirement: 110VAC 50-60Hz [220VAC optional] | Air requirements: 2.75-6 bar [40-90 PSI] 2.2 SCFM
