Requirements: This unit required precisely cutting laminated packets of material from a roll form that will pass through an elongated exit chute with all components mounted on an adjustable equipment stand.

Material:

  • Laminated packets of iron powder in a roll form
  • Packet width: 30mm W x 40mm L
  • Packet thickness: <7mm (20cc)

 

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured an all-electric custom application per customer specifications to precisely cut packets of laminated film from roll form that will pass through an extended exit chute.

  • Material is loaded onto the cantilever unwind.
  • The cantilever design allows for quick and easy loading of material.
  • From the unwind, the material is guided into traction belts.
  • Traction belts will firmly and securely hold the material.
  • Belts are turned by a high accuracy, low maintenance indexing motor.
  • Once the material is placed in the belts, the unit can be primed and the material will automatically self-feed to the proper starting position.
  • The auto prime feature indexes the material to the proper starting position.
  • An optic system built into the knife cartridge detects a seal between the pouches and signals the unit to cycle.
  • Optic performance can be monitored by the operator from the control panel.
  • Once the material is indexed to the proper location, the knife cartridge cuts the material.
  • Cut material falls down the elongated exit cute and passes a jam sensor.
  • Unit is PLC controlled and can be operated in automatic or manual modes with a dry contact one shot input.
  • Unit will automatically shut down if no product is sensed exiting the knife assembly.
  • The unit has a touch screen for easy setup and operation.
