Blade setup: SC-1D

GENERAL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS FOP SC1D

DISCONNECT AIR SUPPLY WHEN SERVICING THE UNIT!

1. Loosen the flat head socket cap screws (#10) that hold the fixed blade bracket to the cylinder assembly.

2. Install the lower blade.

3. Place the knife pivot bolt (#09) through the disc spring (#05) movable blade (#06), stationary blade (#07) and frame (#08). Do not tighten. (The movable blade must have a bronze bearing (#13) pressed into it that is less in thickness than the blade.)

4. Install the socket head shoulder screw (#04) through the movable blade (#06). The socket head shoulder screw (#04) must be coated with removable threadlocker. With the hex nut (#03) and bolt tight, the blade should be free to rotate as the cylinder rod is extended.

5. Apply a small amount of grease between the movable blade and the cylinder rod and between the stationary blade and the movable blade.

6. With the knife pivot bolt (#09) in place, hold the movable blade closed (in the cut position) against the fixed blade.

7. Tighten the flat head socket cap screws (#10). (Removable threadlocker must be used.)

8. Rotate the knife pivot bolt (#09) so that the flat edge on the bolt is aligned with the socket set screw (#11). Do not tighten.

9. Tighten the hex nut (#12) so the disc spring (#05) and movable blade make contact plus add a 1/2 turn to preload the blades.

10. Put removable threadlocker on the socket set screw (#11) and tighten it against the pivot bolt.

11. Test cut the unit. It should be able to cut material .006" or thicker. This unit is not designed to cut thin gauge films or foils below .006".
