GENERAL MAINTENANCE & SET UP FOR GO KNIVES
DISCONNECT AIR SUPPLY WHEN SERVICING THE UNIT!
BLADE REPLACING INSTRUCTIONS
Remove the low head socket cap screws (#16), replace blades (#03 & #04) and reinstall screws. Follow the instructions listed below for readjusting.
BLADE SETTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Loosen the two low head socket cap screws (#16),
2. Close the movable blade (#3) down over the stationary blade (#4).
3. Tighten (as you face the blade, cylinder up) the left low head socket cap screw (#16), then open one turn to make the blade parallel to the bracket.
4. Adjust the right low head socket screw to allow two business cards to slip between the wide side of the movable blade and the stationary blade.
5. Now that the blade is set, test the knife with hand pressure. Movement should be smooth with a light consistent force needed to move the blade across the stationary blade.
6. Test cut a piece of paper to make sure the settings are proper.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. If the knife remains at its home (up) position or does not return to its home position:
a) Check that at least 40 PSI air is supplied.
b) Check that there are no obstructions in the way of the knife assembly.
c) Remove the movable blade and check for smooth operation of the blade bracket. If a problem exists isolate the cylinder (#11) or bearings (#13) to see where the problem is.
2. If the knife does not cut product properly:
a) Check that there are no obstructions in the way of the knife assembly.
b) Increase air pressure to cut tougher materials.
c) Resharpen or replace blades.
3. If the knife does not cut product, movable blade deflects and bends material:
a) Slightly higher preload is necessary on the movable blade. Tighten each of the low head socket cap screws (#16) slightly1/4 turn. Make sure each is turned in the same amount.
Note: Increasing the blade preload will shorten the blade, bearing, and cylinder life.
